Stephen Elop was not that stupid to push Windows Phone into Nokia’s phones, and to make possible the acquisition by Microsoft. According to Reuters, the “change of control” clause of his contract — an American-style “golden parachute” — entitles Elop to the following compensations:
- 18 months of his base salary plus a short-term management cash incentive = 4.2 million euros
- equity awards = 14.6 million euros
Almost 19 million euros in all. The bastard.
