Remember my post about the 9.99 price idiocy? Well, it looks like the “round” prices (ending in zero or in 5) started to show again on Planet Earth, at least in Germany. Why would that happen? Are Germans more price-conscious, are they pondering more than other people before purchasing anything, so that they wouldn’t be fooled by something like 199.99?
I’ve collected some prices from MediaMarkt and Saturn, and some of them are just Zen. Say, among all those 479, 299, 699 or 99, how about 170 €, 450 €, 100 € (not 99.99 €, and not 99 € either!), 195 €, or 560 €?
Not to mention that even the “9″ prices are not “9.99″, nor “8.99″, they’re in full euros. I’m afraid the German people is starting to have more common-sense than before. (Well, they’re not there yet, judging by how indecisively they voted in the last elections, but they might be on the right track.)
